~ When a person travels the Mahapath for a year after death, he or she is then taken to the ancestral world after being sanctified by his or her sons and grandsons. At the end of the year, the ancestral bodies are taken away along with the ancestral bodies.After the union of these, the ghost attains ultimate salvation.
~ Upon the death of a householder father, if the Spendikarna Shraddha has not been performed, then the marriage ceremony cannot take place. Therefore, the Spendikarna should be performed by the son on the 12th day itself.Even after this, Podash Shraddha should be performed as per the rules for 12 months.
~ After the deceased's cremation, the ghost eats on the eleventh and the second day. On these two days, whatever is offered to a living being is addressed with the word "pret."It should be given because it brings joy to the deceased. Any donation made after the Sapindakarna should be made for the ancestors by name and clan. On the occasion of the Duadasha Sanskar, the host should make a vow to donate twelve pots filled with water. One each of the Vardhani (special type of water vessel) filled with food and fruits, Lord Vishnu, Yamaraja,By taking a resolution of Chitra Gupta, provide the opportunity to the Brahmin.
~ The ritual of Spinda is performed on the twelfth day after the impure days, with or without fire.
Method :
~ After bathing, smearing the place of death with cow dung, washing the feet of the idols of gods installed there, offering "laai" to the ancestors, the son should take some water from Anchman.
~ Offer 3,3 grains of "Lai" to Vasu Deva, Rudra, and Arka as your grandfather, and from them as your ancestors, and then to the deceased.
~ Worship everyone with sandalwood chutney, basil leaves, incense, fragrant items, gifts etc.
Divide the tribute offered to the deceased into three parts using a gold bar and mix each part thoroughly with the others.
~ Mother's Spinda should be done with grandmothers, and father's Spinda should be done with grandfathers.
~ If the father died while the grandfather was still alive, then one should offer 3 grains of rai - pay homage to the grandfather and his ancestors.
~ On the death of the wife, if there is no son, the husband should perform the rituals with his mother-in-law and relatives.
~ Then the Brahmins should be given food, gifts, dakshina, gifts and 12 pots full of water.
~ After giving up the clothes you are wearing, donate a bed. The bed should be very valuable, equipped with all the comforts, including an umbrella, a silver lamp, idols of Lord Narayana and Lakshmi, clothes,There should be decorated mace, etc. with gahno.
~ Women's rituals should include red clothes, jewellery and other items.
~ Then make a Brahmin sit with his wife on a bed in front of Narayan-Lakshmi, facing north, worship Lakshmi-Narayan by garlanding them with flowers, and then pronounce, "O Nath, just as your bed is an ocean of milk, may this bed also be a source of comfort for me in my next lives." Offering floral tributes to the Brahmin and the Lord, he greeted the Brahmin and said, "O Brahmin Saying, "God, please accept this," donate the bed. Swing everyone seated on the bed three times. Walk around the bed and bid farewell to everyone.
~ After the completion of the Shaiya Daan ritual, 13 Pad Daan rituals are performed, which include 1 umbrella, slippers, clothes, ring, water pot, Kusha, 5 utensils (these seven types of Pad), along with these a wooden Donating a stick, copper vessel, raw rice, sacred thread and eatables to 13 Brahmins on the 12th day gives peace to the departed soul.
~ After performing the Spinda ritual, one should continue to donate "Laai" with a pot of water every month, before the annual Shraddha.
~ Spinda, monthly and annual Shraddha should not be performed in Sankranti. If there are 13 months in a year, then annual Shraddha should be performed in the 13th month.
~ When it is not Sankranti, "Lai" is not needed. It is needed only during Sankranti.
~ After the annual Shraddha, three Shraddha offerings should always be made. One Shraddha offering is fatal for the ancestors.
~ Shraddha in Gaya brings salvation to the ancestors.
~ A person should strive to do whatever he can to benefit his ancestors. This will bring him happiness not only in this world but also in the next.
